Pittsburgh Irish Festival

The Pittsburgh Irish Festival, Inc., a non-profit dedicated to celebrating Irish culture, goes beyond its popular “Halfway to St. Patrick’s Day Festival” by offering year-round educational and cultural programs through its Irish Education Outreach Program. This initiative raises awareness of Irish and Irish-American heritage by providing cultural presentations, workshops, and multidisciplinary materials to schools and community groups. In addition, the Festival participates in events like the Peoples Gas Holiday Market, the BRIGID celebration, Picklesburgh, and an annual Golf Outing, making Irish culture an integral part of Pittsburgh’s vibrant community.

The Original Pittsburgh Taco Festival

Founded in 2016 by Craig McCloud, the festival was created to support both food trucks and start-ups while also benefiting Pittsburgh’s Latin-American community. Partnering with the Pittsburgh Hispanic Development Corporation (PHDC) and Casa San Jose, the festival celebrates Latin culture through its taco-themed event. These organizations help recruit vendors, organize entertainment, and ensure authenticity, while also receiving a generous percentage of the net proceeds to further their missions.

Pittsburgh International Jazz Festival

Join the 12th Annual Pittsburgh International Jazz Festival, presented by Citizens Bank, from September 16-18, when Downtown Pittsburgh transforms into a lively jazz club with jam sessions, beer gardens, and unforgettable performances. Curated by the AWAACC and musician Sean Jones, the festival features legendary artists like Ron Carter Foursight, Ledisi, and Stanley Clarke N 4Ever. The event kicks off with a Taste of Jazz Party at the August Wilson African American Cultural Center, offering delicious food and intimate performances. Throughout the weekend, don’t miss the live jam sessions and exhibits at the Center while enjoying the festival’s main events at Highmark Stadium.

Richard S. Caliguiri City of Pittsburgh Great Race

Be part of the 47th annual community run, supporting Amyloidosis Research since 1977, by joining as a volunteer or participant. The “Highmark Bright Blue Futures Youth Racers” program invites children ages 6 to 17 to participate in the 2024 City of Pittsburgh Community Footrace Series, including the Greenfield Glide, Brookline Breeze, Historic Hill 5K, and Run Around the Square. Youth who complete any of these 5K races earn free registration for the Great Race 5K on September 29, courtesy of Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield.
